Domaine de Chevalier, awarded the Grand Cru Classé de Graves in 1953, extends over 38 hectares in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan forest, in the west of the appellation. L’Esprit de Chevalier, the estate’s second wine, is blended from the wine of the young vines, and also includes vintages which, although sufficiently complex, balanced, structured, and above all elegant and refined to respect the image of Chevalier, do not quite have the structure and precision of the Grand Vin. L’Esprit de Chevalier rouge is thus a charming wine which, in general, is appreciated more quickly than the Grand Vin. L’Esprit de Chevalier 2021 is made from a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot and has benefited from 14 months of aging in barrels, 40% of which are new barrels.
