Nestled in the heart of the Galilee, near the beautiful village of Kerem Ben Zimra, the Dalton Estate is a gem that draws its excellence from the expertise of its inhabitants and the natural riches of its environment.
Founded in 1995 by Mat and Alex Haruni, father and son, they identified the potential of the Upper Galilee and envisioned it as a premier wine region.
The Haruni family collaborated with local farmers from the village of Kerem Ben-Zimra (KBZ) and international wine consultant John Worontschak to produce the winery's first vintages in a small local facility. These wines quickly became a hit, and with the growing demand for quality Israeli wines, the winery experienced explosive growth.
In 2002, winemaker Naama Sorkin joined the team, increasing annual production from 300,000 to 1,000,000 bottles. Recognizing the importance of controlling the quality of the grapes used for its wines, Dalton Winery quickly expanded its vineyards. Today, Dalton Winery controls and manages 80 hectares of vineyards in the Galilee, producing some of the finest grapes in the country. A true estate winery, this approach allows Dalton Winery to maintain the highest standards of quality and care with every bottle.
2015 marked not only the winery's 20th anniversary, but also the beginning of a new era with the arrival of Alex Haruni as CEO. Tzachi Sternberg also joined the team as general manager, and Naama Sorkin's departure led to the arrival of Guy Eshel as the new winemaker.
Eshel, like Sorkin, came to Dalton after a period of training and professional experience abroad. He brought an innovative approach to creative winemaking processes to the winery, prioritizing Dalton's reputation, quality, and excellence, while constantly exploring new and innovative ideas with the rest of the team.
Dalton Winery believes in the power of every moment and always crafts its wines with its customers in mind. Everything is designed for them: their moments, their choices, their tastes, and their enjoyment.
